On a cold
Valentines day morning 24 Cadets & 6 Staff traveled to Pirbright Army Training
Regiment for the Squadrons 4th Annual Activities Day (SAD).
Meeting at the squadron at 07.30 the 3 mini buses were loaded
and everyone set off for Pirbright. Once at Pirbright the CO Briefed the
cadets and issued the program whilst the other staff set up their activities, the squadrons
two flights were split in to 2 teams and the competition began
The four main activities were .22 Shooting, Field craft test,
Drill test and a command task, each team took turns at each activity, moving
from one to the other each hour.
After lunch the activities were at a slightly slower pace
but with more brain power required, CI Prescott had prepared a Aircraft
Recognition Competition with a twist (he had included tanks, Boats, Rifles
vehicles and people) whilst the other flight were constructing Towers from
Drinking straws to support an egg. Once each flight had completed all activities
the scores were calculated. <Results>
All cadets and staff had put maximum effort in to the
whole day but unfortunately there could only be one winner, with Hurricane
flight team 2 winning over all, and spitfire flight team two coming second, with
a 9 point lead over all Hurricane won for the 2nd year running
