Cadet Area

Below are the "Job Descriptions" for All Ranks

Cadet / Corporal (transitional) / Corporal (Full) /

Sergeant / Flight Sergeant / Cadet Warrant Officer

To be considered you must fulfill the criteria for your current Rank AND the next rank, you need to continue to work at the higher level for a period of time continuously meeting the criteria. Only meeting the criteria once or parts will not be sufficient for your consideration to the next rank. SOLJR !!!

CADET JOB DESCRIPTION
 
1.    Develop the following qualities, SOLJR (Smart, Obedient, Loyal, Judicious, Reliable)
2.    Set personal standards.
3.    Be a good team member, do your best at every task you are set.
4.    Attend as many non-parade night activities as possible.
5.    Be able to undertake a 12 hours exercise/expedition/activity.
6.    Know the Squadron Parades timings and be in the right place at the right time.
7.    Be a First Class Cadet with in 6 month of enrolment.

Cpl JOB DESCRIPTION (Transitional)
 
1.    Demonstrate the following qualities, SOLJR (Smart, Obedient, Loyal, Judicious, Reliable)
2.    Instil the above in Cadets - Set Standard (time, quality, quantity)
3.    Understand the functional approach to leadership.
4.    Attend as many non-parade night activities as possible.
5.    Be able to undertake a 12 hours exercise / expedition / activity in sole or joint charge of a group of Cadets.
6.    Be able to organise Cadets so that Squadron Parades run on time and that all Parade duties are carried out.
7.    Preferable be a Leading Cadet.

Cpl JOB DESCRIPTION (Full) (must be reached with in 6 months of promotion
 
1.    Demonstrate the following qualities, SOLJR (Smart, Obedient, Loyal, Judicious, Reliable)
2.    Instil the above in Cadets - Set Standard (time, quality, quantity) - If it is not done correctly, do it again.
3.    Understand the functional approach to leadership, and implement the functional approach in all tasks.
4.    Attend as many non-parade night activities as possible.
5.    Be able to undertake a 12 hours exercise / expedition / activity in sole charge of a group of Cadets.
6.    Be able to organise Cadets so that Squadron Parades run on time and that all Parade duties are carried out.
7.    Preferable be a Leading Cadet.

Sgt JOB DESCRIPTION

3.    Apply the functional approach to leadership, and encourage the implementation of the functional approach in all tasks.
4.    Attend as many non-parade night activities as possible.
5.    Be able to organise a 12 hours exercise / expedition / activity in sole charge of a group of Cadets.
6.    Ensure that Squadron Parades run on time and that all Parade duties are carried out.
7.    Select an area of Squadron Training and develop your knowledge/skill so that you are competent in your chosen area and can instruct Cadets.

F/Sgt JOB DESCRIPTION
 
1.    Demonstrate the following qualities, SOLJR (Smart, Obedient, Loyal, Judicious, Reliable)
2.    Instil the above in Cadets - Set Standard (time, quality, quantity) - If it is not done correctly, do it again.
3.    Teach the functional approach to leadership to junior Cadets. Apply and encourage the implementation of the functional approach in all tasks.
4.    Attend as many non-parade night activities as possible.
5.    Organise a 12 hours exercise / expedition / activity in sole charge of a group of Cadets, or a Parade night activity away from the HQ.
6.    Take responsibility for running Squadron Parades on time and that all Parade duties are carried out.
7.    Further develop your chosen area of Squadron Training if practicable, or select another area to develop.
8.    If you are an Instructor Cadet start your training to gain a qualification to allow you to lead activities as the Adult in charge.

CWO JOB DESCRIPTION
1.    Demonstrate the following qualities, SOLJR (Smart, Obedient, Loyal, Judicious, Reliable)
2.    Instil the above in Cadets - Set Standard (time, quality, quantity) - If it is not done correctly, do it again.
3.    Teach the functional approach to leadership to JNCOs. Apply and encourage the implementation of the functional approach in all tasks. Conduct de-brief after each exercise and report conclusions to CO / Training Officer.
4.    Attend as many non-parade night activities as possible. 
5.    Organise Squadron events and the Squadrons participation in Wing events and be prepared to attend those event as the Adult in charge.
6.    Take responsibility for running Squadron Parades on time and that all Parade duties are carried out. Review NCO performance and report conclusions to CO / Training Officer.
7.    Develop further areas of expertise in Squadron Training and deliver training as agreed with the Training Officer.
8.    Gain as many qualification as possible to allow you to lead activities as the Adult in charge.
