On a rainy Friday morning on April, 12 cadets and 2 staff
set of for Winnie the Pooh Territory, Ashdown Forest, Crowborough. Arriving
at just before 11:00hrs after a pit stop at Mc Donald's, Spirits were high
and Stomachs full. with just a few minuets to get sorted straight after
arrival at Pippingford Park we set off for a full day of walking.
Arriving back around 18:00 we went to make
camp but a company of Army Cadets had got to our chosen location first
so we had to go to another part of the Pippingford Park area on a large
field were the rumor was there were rabid dear that would kill you in a
blink
On Saturday morning we a woke to a hearty
breakfast then went off again on are walk unforgettably both groups got
lost, some more than others and had to be picked up in the mini bus by Flt
Lt Purkiss. we made camp once more and lit a fire and chatted for a while
and then went to bed. In the morning we decided to head home after a poor
first 2 days, we made our way to McDonalds (where won some food) once more
for a last meal, before travelling back in the mini bus we played "yellow
car " and "mini" and sang songs from the radio, arriving back at the
squadron we had a debrief and cleaned all the kit ant washed the min bus
With our sprits dashed, but our hope high
we will plan another expedition and complete our DoE Award
