Wing Activities Day 2010 (WAD) started at 7am on the 27th June, with cadets arriving at the Squadron HQ. at 7.30am the 17 cadets and 1 staff left for Worthy Down on the coach along with Aldershot cadets. The catering detachment had already left. Arriving at Worthy Down just after 07:30 the squadron set up its command bunker and awaited the coach to arrive with the cadets to help set up the inflatable Marquee and assisted the catering detachment set up.

The weather was excellent with temperatures reaching over 20degress before 10am, there was not a cloud in the sky, we later discovered it was the hottest day of the year so far and was the hottest WAD day for over 8 years, this was good as all the ice creams we had brought to sell were all gone before midday

The cadets participated in several events: Command Tasks, Drill, .22 Target Shooting, Banner Drill, public speaking & Aircraft Recognition. Photographs, models and Media skills  were all judged on Saturday All cadets contributed and represented the squadron well, with maximum effort in every event from every one

The catering detachment was run buy CI Luker, Mrs Luker, CI Prescott, Roy Barnley and F/Sgt J Cooper; making burgers, bacon rolls and selling Mars bars and cold cans of drink, to raise funds for the squadron

The Team was managed by Mr Cockfield ensuring all competitors were on time at the correct events 9th is equal to our best ever ranking and brings us a step closer towards the goal of winning WAD. (Results)
